Tran Thi Thanh Thuy has been a lecturer/researcher at the Faculty of Geography, Hanoi National University of Education (HNUE), Vietnam since 2000. She is currently the head of the Geography Teaching Method and Theory Department. Mrs Thuy completed her first MA in Geography Teaching Method and Theory at HNUE and was awarded her PhD in Geography Education in HNUE also. Her PhD thesis topic relates to using Micro-Teaching in training Teaching-skills for teacher-student in Faculty of Geography.
Mrs Thuy's research interests cover the fields on modern teaching methedologies and teaching methods. She also interested in researching on use of ICT in teaching Geography in schools and has a long time to research on this area. on training teaching-skills for teacher-students in HNUE by Micro-Teaching. She now takes attention in assessement, expecially authentic assessment, and learning strategies in developing ability of students in school.
Mrs Thuy participates in training undergaduate students, MA students and PhD researchers. The modules that she has taught include Theory of Teaching Geography, Methods of Teaching Geography in School, Using ICT in Teaching Geography, Education Assessment. She sometimes takes part in some Vietnam Ministry of Education’s teacher training programes and she also works like a Geography teacher in secondary school.
